Why Smart Companies Are Already Booking Their 2026 Holiday Parties

It's only September, but if you're waiting until Halloween to start planning your company's holiday celebration, you may already be behind. Every fall, the same thing happens across South Jersey and the Philadelphia area: the best venues, the best dates, and the best catering teams get locked up first — and December weekends are almost always gone before Thanksgiving.
At Innovative Catering Concepts (ICC), we spend this time of year fielding calls from event planners who waited too long last season and don't want to repeat the scramble. Here's what we're telling them — and what we'd tell you, too.
Book the date before the date books itself
Corporate holiday parties tend to cluster into a handful of weekends between late November and mid-December, which means demand for venues, catering staff, and rental equipment all spikes at once. If your company wants a Friday or Saturday night in that window, September and October are the right time to secure it — not November.
This isn't just about our calendar. It's about giving your team enough runway to actually plan a party people will remember: sending invites early enough that people can put it on their calendar, finalizing a headcount, and working out a menu that fits your group instead of settling for whatever's left.
What's shaping holiday catering this year
A few things we're seeing more requests for as we head into the 2026 season:
Interactive food stations over static buffet lines. Carving stations, build-your-own pasta or taco bars, and live-action dessert stations give guests something to do at the party, not just something to eat. They also make it easier to keep lines moving at a large event.
Real dietary flexibility, built in from the start. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-conscious options aren't an afterthought anymore — they're part of the base menu plan. We build this into every proposal rather than treating it as a special request.
Blending "thank you" with "celebration." More companies are using the holiday party to do double duty: recognize the year's wins, thank staff and clients in the same room, and keep the tone festive rather than formal. That shapes everything from the menu to the room layout.
Casual formats gaining ground. Not every company wants a formal sit-down dinner. A food truck parked outside the office for a holiday lunch, or a relaxed cocktail-and-stations reception, can hit the mark just as well as a ballroom event — sometimes better, depending on your team and budget.
Three ways to celebrate, one caterer to handle it
One advantage of working with ICC is that you're not locked into a single format:
Host it at The Forum. Our venue in Blackwood, NJ offers the Grand Ballroom (750+ guests) or the more intimate Terrace Room (400+ guests), with valet parking, a covered entrance, a cocktail reception area, and a fireplace and chandelier-lit backdrop that already feels like a holiday party before a single decoration goes up. We're about 25 minutes from Philadelphia and 35 minutes from Atlantic City, making it an easy central point for teams and clients coming from either direction.
Bring it to your office or event space. Our off-site catering team serves the tri-state area, so you can keep the party in your own building — or somewhere with more personal meaning — while we handle the food, setup, and service.
Keep it casual with a food truck. For a lower-key team lunch, a holiday open house, or a smaller celebration, our mobile catering brings the party to the parking lot without the formality of a full sit-down event.
Whichever format fits your team, the planning conversation is the same: figure out your headcount, your format, and your date — the sooner the better — and let us build the menu around it.
Let's lock in your date
If your company is even loosely thinking about a 2026 holiday party, now is the moment to start the conversation, not after the good dates are gone. Reach out through our Request Proposal page, call us at (856) 740-3352, or email info@icccatering.com, and we'll walk you through venue availability, off-site options, and menu ideas built around your group.
We respond quickly, because we know you're probably comparing a few options — and we'd rather help you plan a great party than lose you to a slower reply.
